Directions for: Fugu Kimbap
Ingredients
Sesame Rice2 cups cooked rice
3 Tbsp roasted sesame oil
1 Tbsp roasted sesame seeds
Egg Sheets4 eggs
1 Tbsp mirin
tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
dash cooking oil
Beef2 lb(s) beef, thinly sliced
3 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp sugar
4 oz onion, thinly sliced
1 tsp garlic, minced
tsp black pepper
1 Tbsp roasted sesame oil
Wrap and Garnish1 cucumber, thinly sliced
1 carrot, thinly sliced and sauted
1 pickled radish, sliced into strips
4 sheets seaweed
Directions
Sesame Rice1. Mix cooked rice evenly with sesame oil and seeds. Set aside and keep warm.
Egg Sheets1. Place a non-stick pan on medium heat and slightly grease the surface with an oil-soaked paper towel.
2. in a bowl, whisk together the eggs, mirin, salt and sugar. Ladle the mixture onto the pan and swirl to cover the bottom. Flip the egg sheet when it is just set to avoid any colouring. the mixture should yield 4-6 thin egg sheets.
Beef1. Combine the beef with all the ingredients and marinate for 2 hours.
2. Cook the mixture in a hot pan. once cooked, set it aside to cool to room temperature.
Wrap and Garnish1. Spread cup of seasoned rice on each sheet of seaweed. Add the egg sheet, beef, cucumber, carrot and radish. Place the seaweed with rice and fillings on top of a bamboo mat and gently roll. Slice into 8 pieces and serve.
