This takeout favourite is easy to make at home and will please the whole family. Brought to you by Uncle Ben's.
Directions for: Hoisin Beef with Vegetables
Ingredients
2 Tbsp (30 mL) oil, divided
12 oz (350 g) boneless sirloin, very thinly sliced
1 large carrot, peeled and thinly sliced
1 red pepper, very thinly sliced
1 cup (250 mL) snow peas
1 cup (250 mL) chicken broth
cup (60 mL) prepared hoisin sauce
2 Tbsp (30 mL) cornstarch
1 cup (250 mL) UNCLE BEN'S Jasmine Rice
cup (60 mL) green onion, thinly sliced
Directions
1. Heat half the oil in a large, nonstick skillet set over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for 3 minutes or just until browned. Transfer to a plate.
2. Heat the remaining oil in the same skillet. Add the carrot, red pepper and snow peas. Cook for 5 minutes or until tender. Whisk the broth with the hoisin and cornstarch; add to the skillet. Simmer for 2 minutes or until thickened and glossy. Add the steak and simmer for 1 minute or until heated through.
3. Meanwhile, prepare the UNCLE BENS Jasmine Rice without the butter. Serve the stir-fry over the rice and garnish with green onion.
