Directions for: Rouladen

Ingredients

Rouladen

2-7 ounce pieces of sirloin beef, sliced thinly

Salt and pepper

2 Tbsp Dijon mustard

2 slices double smoked bacon

large onion

1 large dill pickle

Rouladen Sauce

2 Tbsp butter

large onion, diced

2 Tbsp flour

1 tsp garlic, minced

1 cup beef bouillon

1 pinch thyme

1 pinch paprika

1 Tbsp mustard seed

1 bay leaf

cup 35% cream

Directions

Rouladen

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

2. Salt and pepper top of both beef slices.

3. Spread Dijon mustard.

4. Place one slice of double smoked bacon on top.

5. Place of an onion on top of bacon.

6. Place a dill pickle beside onion.

7. Roll the beef and place both on a roasting pan.

8. Cover and roast in oven for 40 minutes.

Rouladen Sauce

1. Melt butter in a pan.

2. Saute onion in pan with garlic and flour.

3. Whisk in beef bouillon.

4. Add thyme, paprika, mustard seed, bay leaf and any remaining juices from Rouladen pan.

5. Bring to a boil and finish with cream.

6. Place beef Rouladen on a plate and pour sauce over top until completely covered.
