This tasty steak recipe borrows its flavours from Japan.
Directions for: BBQ Steak with Japanese Sesame Sauce, Baked Potatoes and Grilled Veggies
Ingredients
BBQ Steak with Japanese Sesame4 -6 large potatoes
Aluminum foil
Cooking spray
Fresh ground pepper
Butter and seasoning (optional)
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
1 small zucchini
1 onion
10 mushrooms
Aluminum foil
3 Tbsp prepared basil pesto
Japanese Sesame Saucecup tahini (ground sesame seeds, looks like peanut butter)
2 Tbsp soy sauce (V-H)
tsp each of ground ginger and salt
tsp paprika
1 tsp prepared garlic
1 Tbsp lowest-fat mayo
3 Tbsp water
1 lb(s) or 675 g lean sirloin beef
No-fat sour cream, butter, green onion, bacon bits (optional)
Directions
BBQ Steak with Japanese Sesame Japanese Sesame Sauce1. Preheat oven 350 F. Preheat BBQ to med (approx 350 F)
2. Wash potatoes. Wrap each potato in a sprayed piece of foil, shiny side in. Sprinkle with pepper and seasoning. Place in preheated BBQ. Set timer for 25 min. Cut peppers, zucchini, onions and mushrooms in large chunks. Place pieces on a large piece of foil shiny side up, as you chop.
3. Dab with pesto and wrap with foil. Set aside. Combine tahini, soy sauce, ginger, salt, paprika and garlic in a small bowl. Microwave at high for 10 seconds. Stir to blend while gradually adding mayo and water. Set aside on the dinner table. Its to serve as a sauce beside the steak.
4. When timer rings for potatoesLeave potatoes in. Toss the foil wrap of veggies into the BBQ. Set timer for 15 minutes turning once.
5. When timer rings again
Remove potatoes and veggiesor store on top rack if you have one. Grill steak on BBQ to desired wellness. Add your favorite toppings to your baked potato.
