Directions for: Man Made Asian Flank Steak
Ingredients
3 clove garlic, peeled and finely chopped
1 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and finely chopped
2 green onions, trimmed and finely chopped
2 inch piece of fresh lemongrass, root end finely chopped
bunch fresh coriander, cleaned and finely chopped
2 cup prepared teriyaki marinade (500 ml)
2 Tbsp vegetable oil (30 ml)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 lb(s) flank steak
Directions
1. Combine garlic, ginger, green onions, lemongrass, coriander and teriyaki in an airtight container large enough to hold the steak and the marinade.
2. Immerse the steak and marinate for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight.
3. Preheat an oven to 450F.
4. Heat the vegetable oil in a heavy bottomed saut pan over high heat. when hot, season the steak and add to the pan. Sear on one side and when browned turn it over and place the whole pan in the oven.
5. Cook for 5 8 minutes or until the steak in medium rare (135F).
6. Remove the steak from the oven and put on a rack in a warm place to rest for 5 minutes.
7. Slice the steak into thin slices on the bias and serve.
