Directions for: Jan's Mediterranean Beef Kabobs
Ingredients
Jan's Mediterranean Beef Kabob1 Tbsp (15 ml) vegetable oil divided
1 clove clove of garlic minced
1 tsp (5 ml) turmeric
2 tsp (10 ml) ground cumin
cup (125 ml) All-Bran Buds* cereal crushed or All-Bran Original* cereal crushed
1 lb(s) (1 kg) ground beef
4 Tbsp (60 ml) fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 tsp (5 ml) salt
tsp (2 ml) fresh cracked pepper
1 Tbsp (15 ml) canola oil

Jan's Mediterranean Beef Kabob1. Heat half of the oil in non-stick skillet over medium high heat. Cook onions, stirring often, until tender and golden, about 6 minutes. Add garlic and cook just until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Remove from heat and scrape mixture into a bowl to cool completely.
2. Stir cereal, beef, turmeric, cumin, parsley, salt and pepper into the cooled onion mixture.
3. Form sausage shapes with 50 ml ( cup) of the mixture around metal or soaked bamboo skewers. Lightly brush with remaining oil.
4. Grill over medium heat, turning often, until cooked through, about 10 minutes.
Tip1. Serve these with a prepared Raita, some grilled flatbread and a tomato parsley salad.
