Directions for: the Rebel
Ingredients
Roasted Garlic Mayo1 heads garlic
2 Tbsp olive oil
bunch fresh thyme, chopped
1 cup mayonnaise
salt and pepper, to taste
Avocado Spread2 ripe avocadoes
lemon, juiced
1 cup mayonnaise
cup sour cream
2 clove garlic, finely chopped
salt and pepper, to taste
Burger1 lb(s) ground chuck
2 tsp salt
pinch black pepper
2 - 3 jalapeno peppers, sliced thinly
4 slices Cheddar cheese
4 pretzel buns (or other hamburger buns)
1 cup plain potato chips (homemade or store-bought)
4 leaves lettuce
2 medium beefsteak tomatoes, sliced
Directions
Roasted Garlic Mayo1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Slice the top off the head of garlic and place on a sheet of metal foil.
3. Drizzle oil and sprinkle thyme over the head of garlic; wrap foil around garlic and roast for 45 minutes, or until garlic is soft.
4. when slightly cooled, squeeze garlic into a bowl and mash with a fork. Add mayonnaise and mix thoroughly.
5. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Avocado Spread1. Cut avocadoes in half, remove pit and scoop avocado pulp into a medium bowl.
2. Mash with a fork until smooth. Add lemon juice, mayonnaise, sour cream, and garlic.
3. Mix well and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Burger1. Preheat grill. Divide ground chuck into four and form into -inch patties.
2. Brush burgers with 1 tablespoon of olive oil each; season each patty with teaspoon of salt and a pinch of black pepper.
3. Place patties on the grill. Grill each patty for 3 minutes per side, or until no longer pink in the centre.
4. before removing burgers from the grill, place five slices of jalapeno and 1 slice of cheddar cheese on each burger to melt; continue grilling burgers until juices run clear.
5. Toast hamburger buns on the grill.
6. to assemble the burgers, spread avocado spread on the bottom bun. Top each bun with a burger patty, a handful of potato chips, a slice of lettuce, and two slices of tomato.
7. Spread the roasted garlic mayonnaise on the top bun and close the burger.
