Directions for: GC Luther
Ingredients
6 strips bacon
12 Krispy Kreme doughnuts or glazed doughnuts
3 lb(s) 80/20 ground beef
18 slices American cheese
1 stick butter, melted
kosher salt
Directions
1. Cook bacon and reserve. Discard fat.
2. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Using a bread knife, cut open all doughnuts like you would a bagel. Butter all the cut sides.
3. Make six 8-oz unseasoned burger patties by very gently forming the meat.
4. Place your burger patties in your skillet. when juices form on top of your cooking burgers flip them, season them with kosher salt quite liberally and top with cheese. Cover so the cheese will melt.
5. Meanwhile, place doughnuts cut side down in the non-stick pan. Place a slice of cheese on only one half of each doughnut. when the cheese begins to melt, close your doughnuts by placing the non-cheesed side on top of the halves with cheese, leaving the toasted side out.
6. Place doughnuts cut side down in the non-stick pan. Place a slice of cheese on only one half of each doughnut. when the cheese begins to melt, close your doughnuts by placing the non-cheesed side on top of the halves with cheese, leaving the toasted side out.
7. to assemble: Place one of your grilled cheese doughnuts on a paper or glass plate -- not STYROFOAM! it will melt. Place a burger patty on top followed by bacon, then your other grilled cheese doughnut. Enjoy!
