Directions for: Filet Mignon with Pomegranate
Ingredients
Filet Mignon2 6 oz Filet Mignon
4 10 inch long pieces of good quality prosciutto ham
coarse salt and black pepper, to taste
Sauce2 Tbsp pomegranate molasses (30 ml)
2 Tbsp brown sugar (30 ml)
3 Tbsp red wine (45 ml)
1 Tbsp soy sauce (15 ml)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (5 ml)
coarse salt and black pepper, to taste
Directions
Filet Mignon1. Preheat oven to broil.
2. Wrap a slice of prosciutto around filet mignon. if you run out of ham continue wrapping with a second slice of prosciutto. do the same with the other filet. Ensure all edged are neatly tucked in. Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the steak and grill on each side until desired doneness.
3. when done, take steaks off the grill and arrange them on a plate. Spoon over a small amount of sauce and drizzle droplets on the place for garnish.
Sauce1. in the meantime, in a small sauce pan add pomegranate molasses, red wine, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar and simmer until alcohol has evaporated. Add salt and pepper to taste and continue to simmer until mixture reaches a slightly thickened consistency.
