Directions for: Mainah Burgers
Ingredients
Burgers12 oz ground beef, shaped into 4-6 oz patties (depending on desired thickness)
6 strips applewood smoked bacon
1 white Spanish onion, thinly sliced
3 slices sharp Cheddar cheese
Maple Mayo (see below)
1 Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced
hamburger buns, toasted
3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Burger Seasoning1 tsp salt
1 tsp cracked rainbow peppercorns
tsp Tony's Creole Seasoning
tsp garlic powder
tsp onion powder
Maple Mayo1 cup Hellmann's Mayonnaise
2 Tbsp Real Maine Maple Syrup
1 tsp brown sugar
Directions
Burgers1. Preheat flat-top griddle to 350F or heat pan to medium-high heat.
2. Add thinly sliced onions to a separate pan, on low heat, with olive oil (and salt and pepper to taste) and cook, on low, for 40 minutes to 1 hour, stirring regularly, until onions have darkened and are soft.
3. once flat-top or pan is hot, place burgers on flat-top and season generously with burger seasoning. Flip burgers once, after about 4 minutes or when edges start to brown.
4. Place two slices of bacon and sauted onions on the flat-top to heat up.
5. when the burger is fully cooked, add the bacon, onions and Cheddar cheese atop of the burger. to melt the cheese, use a cover and pour 1 teaspoon of cold water on the flat-top.
6. Add the Maple Mayo and thinly sliced Granny Smith apple to your toasted bun. Remove the burger from heat, let sit for 1 minute, then place on bun.
Burger Seasoning1. Mix together until well combined. Season patties before cooking.
Maple Mayo1. Combine all ingredients until well mixed. Reserve for burger assembly.
