Asian Beef with Snow Peas and Rice

Directions for: Asian Beef with Snow Peas and Rice

Ingredients

Stir-Fry Sauce

1 tsp cornstarch

2 tsp oyster sauce

1 tsp sesame oil

tsp sugar

1 Tbsp water

1 Tbsp ginger-sesame sauce (can be szechuan, peanut satay or Thai)

1 Tbsp prepared garlic

cup chicken broth

Marinade

1 Tbsp cornstarch

1 Tbsp soy sauce

2 Tbsp water

1 Tbsp red wine (can be non-alcoholic)

tsp sugar

Asian Beef with Snow Peas and Rice

1 lb(s) (450g) flank or sirloin steak

1 cup basmati or white rice

3 cup water

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tsp ginger powder (or 2 teaspoons prepared ginger)

tsp red crushed chilies

2 green onions

1 lb(s) (600g) frozen snow peas (or fresh)

Directions

Stir-Fry Sauce

1. Combine the following in another small bowl: cornstarch, blend in oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, water, ginger-sesame sauce, garlic and chicken broth.

2. Cover and leave in fridge overnight.

Marinade

1. Combine the following in a medium size mixing bowl in this order: corn starch, stir in soy sauce, gradually add water, red wine and sugar.

2. Slice beef against the grain in strips approximately 2 inches long.

3. Add to marinade bowl. Toss with a fork until well coated.

4. Cover and leave in fridge overnight.

Asian Beef with Snow Peas and Rice

1. Heat oil in a large nonstick frying pan or work at medium high.

2. Add ginger, drained marinated beef and chili flakes.

3. Slice green onion and add to pan.

4. Toss until meat browns.

5. Add stir-fry sauce and snow peas.

6. Toss until sauce thickens slightly and snow peas are tender but crisp.

7. Serve over rice.
