Directions for: Thor, the Viking Dog
Ingredients
The Viking Dog4 soft Swedish thin bread (can be found at Ikea, but you can also substitute with any kind of wrapping bread; if you can't find it, you'll be missing out on the great taste of anise and fennel!)
4 good-quality all-beef hot dogs
Mashed Potatoes
Crab Salad
crunchy fried onions
Mashed Potatoes2 lb(s) Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes
4 Tbsp butter
2 oz milk
salt
Crab Salad6 oz imitation crab (good quality, not frozen)
9 Tbsp mayonnaise
1 Tbsp crme frache (or substitute with sour cream)
2 Tbsp red onions, finely chopped
3 Tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped
1 tsp cayenne pepper
tsp Dijon mustard
pinch salt
Directions
The Viking Dog1. Fry the hot dogs until golden. Put 3 Tablespoons of mashed potatoes on each bread. Add 2-3 Tablespoons of crab salad and 1 Tablespoon of onions. Top with 1 hot dog. Roll it together and enjoy!
Mashed Potatoes1. Peel the potatoes and boil until cooked through. Heat the milk then mash the potatoes with a masher. Add milk and butter, mash until smooth. Season with salt.
Crab Salad1. Begin with chopping the crab finely then mix the mayonnaise, crme frache, mustard and cayenne pepper.
